And, we’re off again! Northumberland calls with a number of important tasks and activities! Hurray! The weather is not looking great but most of what we have to do is indoors so we’ll manage somehow, I guess.
We’ve had a great week – three days on the south coast with our great friends and a terrific visit to Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens. Who knew that this place existed just a few miles from Sue & Stuart’s – it was a treat.
Wonderful gardens, champion trees mingled with sculptures of all shapes and sizes, some of which was really good some of which was so-so.

One of the highlights was a visit to the doll’s house exhibition/museum. It was fabulous – I could have wandered around for hours. Lovely Edwardian scenes depicted in 1/12 scale – grand houses with fancy ballrooms, workers in gardens, a range of shops and farm buildings all of which have been exquisitely represented in miniature. My photos don’t begin to do it justice – their gallery of images gives you an idea.

Adam was over on Friday to assist in the annual chopping of the wisteria. Every year I promise that I will keep on top of it, trimming it at the appropriate intervals throughout the year rather than allowing it to explode across the gable end of the house, up and underneath the slates and tangling up the gutters! And every autumn I regret not having done so. Thankfully, Adam came to the rescue while I supervised and performed the rigorous duties of a health and safety inspector.

Meanwhile, keep breathing, keep happy, keep smiling, keep exercising, be good, be careful, and keep safe. And, be gentle to wasps and bees – we need all the pollinators we can get. And, hold your loved ones close.
Lots of love to you all,
Greg
